Ar Tearmann Cottage
Self Catering

South-east facing, with views over the bay towards Mallaig, Loch Nevis, Loch Hourn, and the Knoydart hills, Ar Tearmann Cottage sleeps four in two double bedrooms. Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome at no extra charge.

Situated in the southern part of the island, known as the Sleat Peninsula, and only five minutes from the ferry terminal at Armadale, Ar Tearmann is close to a wide range of attractions for visitors: walks to suit all abilities, Armadale Castle, the new distillery at Torabhaig, outdoor activities, such as sea kayaking, art galleries and studios and some excellent fine dining options. The Ardvasar Inn is just a short walk downhill from the cottage.

Ar Tearmann has a large sunny garden (fully enclosed), paved terrace and furnished patio areas, with a gas barbecue.

Indoors, the walls are hung with local art and the furnishings include local Skyeskins sheepskin rugs and pottery. A wood-burning stove gives a cosy feel to the open plan living area, in addition to underfloor heating throughout the cottage, which is thermostatically controlled from each room. The open plan kitchen area is well equipped with a full range of electrical appliances, utensils, crockery and cutlery, including pieces from Uig Pottery.

Entertainment is provided by way of TV/DVD/CD and, more traditionally, a selection of board games. Or, to plan your exploration of the area, there are maps, books and information folders to browse. There is WiFi (up to 18Mpbs), mobile reception, and USB charging points throughout the cottage.

Bedroom one has a superking zip and link divan bed, while bedroom two has a kingsize bed. Both have Egyptian cotton sheets and electric blankets. Bedroom one has an en-suite with monsoon shower, while a separate bathroom is similarly furnished with a walk-in monsoon shower and bath. For added comfort and convenience, we’ve supplied hairdryers, and complimentary toiletries. We mentioned that dogs were welcome – they have their own shower in the hall/utility room area, food and drink bowls, and treats. There is also a Welcome Pack for guests and a starter pack of logs, kindling and fire lighters. In addition, the cottage is very well stocked with all the general cleaning and laundry materials guest might require.
